“American Dream” – Motorized Hammock
Given 72 hours to design something awesome, some friends and I set out to make something new and unique. After a night of brainstorming, we decided to gather the materials to build a drive-able hammock! The hammock is strung on a custom-welded steel “V” mounted atop a hacked-up electric wheelchair base. It carries a pair of big lead-acid batteries for power and sports a PS/2 controller wired through an Arduino for steering. There’s also a handy place to sling a beer cooler.
